Electric Vacuum Booster System (EVB)
This technology provides system integration and control techniques for the electric vacuum booster system. The system combines the electric vacuum pump and the vacuum sensor with the electronic control unit (ECU) to produce appropriate negative pressure to make the vacuum booster provide auxiliary brake force. Besides, the ECU can detect fail-mode status actively by receiving peripheral sensor signals and provide warning as well as protection function. Moreover, in order to avoid the electric vacuum pump failure which causes the brake to fail completely, the system controls not only single vacuum pump but also the dual ones. Therefore, the system has significant competitive advantage compared to general commercial products.
1. Max. vacuum:<260mmHg 2. Vacuum pressure accuracy:<5% 3. ECU sleep current:<1mA 4. Active fail detection and fail-safe protection 5. Automotive-grade microcontroller and components
The EVB can be used in electric vehicles (sedan), hybrid vehicles (sedan), and other sedan- type vehicles.
ARTC has established EVB technologies which include intelligence gathering about patents, system architecture, design and development of electronic control units, system control logic design, etc. The establishment can make domestic component manufacturers have capabilities of system integration and master the EVB system technology in early preparation for the upward trend of EV and HEV.
