2024
In the 2024 AutoTech Breakthrough Awards, known as the Oscars in the automotive research and development industry internationally, ARTC won the "Transportation Management Solution of the Year" award for its “Virtual Track Autonomous Driving Technology” developed through subsidies from the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Technical Program. This technology gains vehicle position by detecting ground magnetic signals and electronic tags. It significantly reduces infrastructure and maintenance costs, improve signal obstruction in urban area and handle adverse weather conditions. Shortening the gap between vehicle and the railway platform to 10cm, achieving all-weather operation for bus rapid transit.
The innovative technology developed by ARTC, "Platooning Technology For Autonomous Vehicles - Vehicle Platoon Following Deciding System Based On Cloud Computing And Deciding Method Thereof " and “Lane Support System(LSS) – Trajectory Planning Method For Lane Changing, And Driver Assistance System For Implementing The Same”, won two golden awards at the Taiwan Innovation Technology Expo Invention Competition.
ARTC got affirmation and won two enterprise special awards as well.
On October 4th, ARTC signed an MOU with Germany's TÜV SÜD, witnessed by Director General, Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Under the MOU, both cooperate to build the testing technologies and homologation services for UN R155 , R156 and R157. It will help local companies to alter global homologation.
The Bureau of Standards, Metrology, and Inspection (BSMI) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, with financial support from the Executive Yuan’s Forward-looking Infrastructure Development Program, has partnered with the Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC) to establish Taiwan’s first international standard "Energy-efficient Tire Testing Laboratory." The lab was officially inaugurated on September 13, with Senior Presidential Advisor Shen Jong-chin, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Lien Jin-chang, and industry representatives in attendance. This laboratory will provide strong backing for promoting energy-efficient tire management systems and supporting industry R&D, while ensuring consumer safety and rights, and contributing to Taiwan’s net-zero carbon emission goals.
The mobility Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium(mTARC),
sponsored by Department of Industrial Technology under the Ministry of Economic Affairs organized the “mTARC Pavillion” and showcased a total of 18 technology R&D achievements related to intelligent vehicle and vehicle electrification in the “2024 AutoTronics Taipei”, during April 17-20,2024,Taipei,Taiwan. Most of developed technologies have turned into partnerships with local manufacturers, such as LIOHO, CMC, Mastertrans, Clientron, FIC, ELAN Microelectronics and 2 start-up companies. They have already received orders from international customers and to assist domestic industry to get involve in the market of electric vehicle and intelligent vehicle electronics.
