Decision-Making Technology of Intersections for Self-Driving Platoon
A platoon is a number of vehicles that are traveling closely together and are electrically connected to increase capacity for both the transport system and logistics industry. We provide a self-driving platooning control technology integrated information of V2V communication, Radar and cameras sensors for transportation and logistics platforms such that vehicles jointly and coordinately circulate on the road.
1.Platoon Speed Range: ≤ 60 km/h
2.Inter-Vehicle distance: > 7 meters
3.Control Error of inter-vehicle distance: ≤ 2 meters
4.Adjust platoon speed based on intelligent traffic light signals and timing to ensure the platoon reaches the intersection at the traffic light. 5.Perception Detection Range: Front > 100 meters, Left/Right > 10 meters
6.CV2X of communication range: ≤ 500m
7.Latency of communication: ≤ 130 ms
8.Operational Scenario: Urban intersection scenarios
This system can be applied in various types of vehicles equipped with drive-by-wire chassis systems.
While many international manufacturers already possess ADAS technologies, platooning functionality has yet to be commercialized. The technology utilizes low-latency inter-vehicle communication to share platooning dynamics and integrates intersection communication with urban traffic infrastructure. It successfully overcomes the limitation of international platooning only applying to highways or expressways, expanding platooning capabilities to urban environments. With a platoon speed of 60 km/h and an inter-vehicle distance of 10.6 meters, the system can reduce the following distance to 7 meters at a lower speed of 30 km/h. Leveraging V2I roadside communication, it receives real-time intersection signal and timing information with dynamic platooning speed control to optimize travel speed for a 10% improvement in operational efficiency.
