Integration and electricity control for Fuel cell powered transport refrigeration unit

Year:
2023
Category:
Electric vehicle key technology
Technique Features:

Currently, cold chain systems equipped with electric compressors are gradually appearing in logistics vehicles. By carrying a certain amount of secondary battery packs, the engine can be turned off during the loading and unloading process of the logistics vehicle to reduce emissions and save fuel. However, the battery cannot carry enough power which  results in limited effectiveness of the aforementioned advantages. This project uses a fuel cell system and battery modules as a power supply solution to provide long-term operation of the cold chain system. Through the high energy volume density and fast fuel filling of the fuel cell, it can reduce the battery carrying capacity and extend the power supply time to strengthen energy conservation and carbon reduction effects. And based on the characteristics of fuel cells and lithium batteries, an optimized power allocation mechanism is developed to enhance fuel usage efficiency and extend power supply time.

Specification:

1.Freezing function: normal temperature, refrigeration (-10℃), freezing (-18℃)

2.Fuel cell specifications: 48V, 3.5kW

3.Fuel/carrying capacity: 51.3% methanol water, 25L

4.Lithium battery specifications: 48V, 2 kWh

5.Power system continuous operation time: > 10 hours

6.Others: Equipped with 220VAC AC power input terminal, which can be used with logistics terminal power for pre-cooling

Applications:

This system can be applied in the logistic vehicles equipped with electric cold-strain system.

Benefit:

This technology can provide cold chain logistics system manufacturers with reference for future product development and new applications, and assist logistics operators in establishing distribution business execution optimization plans.
