The inverter is a key component of electric vehicle. In the recent, lots of car manufacturers have been developing in the direction of X-in-1 inverter, so they will focus on the reliability issues of product. This technology refers to the GMW3172 standard to simulate the resonant frequency, thermal fatigue, mechanical shock, random vibration and high altitude operation overheating for the X-in-1 inverter by computer aided engineering (CAE) technology. This technology can grasp the reliability characteristics of product in the early stage of design, thereby reducing the time and cost incurred by troubleshooting in the later stage.

1.Import of Simulation： 

  a.The PCBA ECAD files (odb++ format). 

  b.The inverter MCAD files (step or iges format). 

  c.The fixed boundary conditions of the PCBA. 

  d.Material properties (such as Young’s modulus, Poisson ratio, density, thermal conductivity,…etc.) 

  e.The power dissipations and thermal resistance of the electric components

2.Export of Simulation： 

  a. The temperature distribution of the PCB and inverter. 

  b. Resonance frequency and mode shape of the PCBA and inverter. 

  c. Principal stress and standard deviation stress of the PCBA and inverter. 

  d. Thermal fatigue life and mechanical fatigue life of the PCBA and inverter. 

This technology can be applied in electric vehicle and of automotive electronics.

The technology can make domestic electric vehicle key component or automotive electronics manufacturers to establish product reliability design and development capabilities, and they will get opportunities of getting into the international car manufacturers supply chain to meet future trend of emerging market demand for electric vehicle or automotive electronics requirement.
