The printed circuit board (PCB) was the base plate used for assembling electronic components. It was used as a communication bridge between active and passive components. When an electronic component failed, it could be replaced through re-work procedure, but it was impossible when problems appeared with the PCB. Therefore, international manufacturers (such as GM) needed the staged simulation reports for the PCB boards provided by suppliers to meet the requirements of the design specifications. When the PCB failed during the reliability verification test, the PCB troubleshooting timeline and cost would be reduced on the manufacturer. 

1.Import of Simulation： 

   a. the ECAD file (odb++ format). 

   b. the fixed boundary conditions of the PCB. 

   c. material properties (such as Young’s modulus, Poisson ratio, density, thermal conductivity,…etc.) 

   d. the power dissipations and thermal resistance of the electric components

2.Export of Simulation：

   a. The temperature distribution of the PCB. 

   b. Resonance frequency and mode shape of the PCB.

   c. Thermal stress, thermal strain of the PCB. 

   d. Thermal fatigue life of the PCB. 

The technologies could be applied to the fields of automotive electronics products.

In recent years, the developments of alternative fuel vehicles, intelligent connected vehicle policies, and automotive electronics products, the demands for the PCBA simulations had been increased. However, many domestic automotive electronic product manufacturers must provide PCBA simulation reports to foreign automotive manufacturers in the design stage. The technologies could help the automotive electronic product manufacturers to provide PCB simulation results to foreign automotive manufacturers in the design stage, and strive to obtain related orders.
