Autonomous Emergency Braking System for Vehicle and Pedestrian in City Safety
The AEB system consists of one long-range millimeter wave (MMW) radar and one wide-range camera in which the module fuses the perception information of the front obstacles (pedestrian and vehicle) from each sensor. A controller is connected to the fusion module, automatically performing the warning or braking assistance to the driver in case of accidents. The system has been tested in a variety of tracks, which satisfies the regulation of Euro NCAP protocol. By the means of host-vehicle oriented by RTK-DGPS and controlled by driving robot, the scenarios of Euro NCAP are simulated and the robustness of system functions is confirmed.
1.Vehicle speed : 10-50 kph
2.Detection area : 2-100 m (vehicle); 2-30 m (pedestrian)
3.Detection correct rate : above 95 %
4.Controller test criterion : ISO16750(power, temperature and humidity)
5.Test standard/protocol: Euro NCAP AEB system test protocol
Intelligent Vehicle Safety System
It is of importance to develop the front AEB system with the increasing demand of driving safety in recent years. The development of AEB system can lead to the upgrade of the driving safety system in the domestic car industry, which makes high profit in the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) market.
