Steering Torque and Angle Detecting Sensor

Year:
2016
Category:
Chassis steering technology
Technique Features:

The sensor which can detect the steering torque and rotational angle uses hall effect sensing principle to achieve non-contact sensing. The torque detecting method is performed by measuring a torsion bar angle amplified by a planetary gear mechanism, and the rotational angle detecting method is performed by two gears which have differential gear numbers.

Specification:

Sensor specification
   Supply power : 5V
   Analog output signal, output range:0~5V
Torque detecting specification
   Twisted angle ≥ ±4°
   Resolution ≤ 0.2°
   Dual signals output
   Hysteresis:0.1°
   Nonlinearity ≤ ±3%
Angle detecting specification
   Absolute angle sensing range ≥ ± 800°
   Resolution ≤ 1°

Applications:

The sensor can be used for the systems or modules which are related to the torque assistance system, such as electric power steering systems, electrical assist bike and electrical wheelchair.

Benefit:

ARTC provides sensor specification, and design technique such as mechanism and hardware design, signal process and analysis algorithm. The gears of the sensor can be made by mature injection molding process. The establishments provide a solution to the torque sensor of electric power steering system (EPS) for Taiwanese manufacturers.
