- ARTC assembled eight manufacturers including Elan, AUO, and CMC to form the "Automotive AI Imaging Chip and Smart Cockpit Display Module Industry Alliance"
- ARTC organized the "Automotive AI Imaging Chip and Smart Cockpit Display Module Industry Alliance", and jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish domestic autonomous vehicle IC display technology capabilities and independent technology for the smart cockpit industry; the alliance supply chain manufacturers invited Eight upstream, midstream and downstream suppliers, including Elan Microelectronics, AUO, Chimei Motor Electronics, CMC, RAC Eletric Vehicles, Master Transportation Bus Manufacturing, Tron Energy Technology, and Silicon Application, participated in the development of the image sensor chip in line with the international automotive industry. ADAS application modules and systems, in accordance with the smart cockpit requirements of electric vehicle manufacturers, combined with the AI technology for sensing inside and outside the cabin, to create key technologies for vehicle intelligence.

- The pioneer in the world: ARTC’s EMC Lab has accredited by both GM and Ford in the test field of EV components.
- In response to the global trends in electric vehicles, ARTC’s Electro-Magnetic Compatibility(EMC) Laboratory has accredited by both GM and Ford in the test field of EV components for total 26 items and been the first in the world. It will assist domestic electrical/electronic manufacturers to expand into the international supply chain.

- MOEA Showcases 25 Eye-catching Exhibit Highlights in Major Auto-parts Show in Taiwan
- The mTARC (Mobility Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium) Pavilion, under the theme of "Smart Alliance, Shared Future", showcases a total of 25 eye-catching R&D achievements in Taiwan most-leading auto-parts twin-shows, TAIPEI AMPA (Taipei Int’l Automobile & Motorcycle Parts & Accessories Show) and AUTOTRONICS TAIPEI (Taipei Int’l Automobile Electronics Show) 2021, held from April 14-17 in Taipei, capital of the island.

- MOTC Breaks Ground for Taiwan’s NCAP Laboratory at ARTC Campus
- The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) broke ground for a pedestrian safety protection laboratory building, part of the ministry’s move to build-up the Taiwan New Car Assessment Program(T-NCAP), on January 22th.
MOTC Minister Lin Chia-lung witnessed the ceremony at Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC)’s campus in central Taiwan, where 12 related test techniques and the laboratory building will be established to parallel the island’s new-car safety assessment and verification capability with international standards.

- Premier Su Celebrates ARTC 30th Anniversary Onsite with Center Staff
- Premier Su Tseng-chang paid a visit to ARTC for celebrating the center’s 30th anniversary. He delivered his thanks to all staff at the center, for building up the world-class vehicle R&D & testing facility from a barren land. ARTC helps local companies greatly cut their R&D costs and shorten the time needed, he added.
Global automotive industry has been evolving, Su noted, in which Taiwan now can grab much more opportunities than in the past combustion-engine period, by leveraging the island’s advantageous strengths.

- The “System Integration & Application of Autonomous Driving Technology” received the Technical Achievement Award from the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

- WinBus trial run in LuKang -- the first approved case of Unmanned Vehicles Technology Innovative Experimentation Act.
- ARTC and Kingwaytek Technology Co., Ltd successfully passed the Ministry of Economic Affairs' "Unmanned Vehicles Technology Innovative Experimentation Act", and obtain the first test license of the self-driving sandbox operation. WinBus has launched the first trail run on May. 20th, 2020. It will conduct one-year experimental autonomous vehicle operations for famous sightseeing routes in LuKang.

- Autonomous Vehicle Experience – the WinBus of ARTC
- On Sep. 24th, 2019, for the first autonomous vehicle sandbox testing in Changpin Industrial Park in Lukang, the Administrative Deputy of Minister of Economic Affairs(MOEA) Wang Mei-Hua was the witness of the MOU signed between ARTC, Changhua County Government and Kingwaytek Technology Co.,Ltd..
Afterwards, The participants of the Autonomous Vehicle Experience, including the Administrative Deputy Wang, the Department of Industrial Technology of MOEA, the head of Changhua Country Wang Hui-Mei, members of the Legislative Yuan, manufacturers, and other nearly 100 VIP, were invited for opening the first flight of self-driving sightseeing by WinBus from ARTC to Timingjump Glass Museum.

- ARTC has unveiled Taiwan's first domestically developed driverless E-bus,WinBus
- Shen Jong-Chin, Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and VIPs witness the unveiling of the high-tech autonomous transportation vehicle, which was developed by ARTC in cooperation with Taiwan autonomous-vehicle supply-chain, under the sponsorship of Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT), MOEA.

- Outstanding Innovation Award for Academic and Research Institutions
- ARTC once again granted the Outstanding Innovation Award for Academic and Research Institutions, from 6th National Innovation Award by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), following 2011 and 2013.

- President Tsai’s Test-ride on an ARTC-developed Autonomous Vehicle during the Opening of Taiwan CAR Lab
- ARTC helped MOST establish the Taiwan CAR (Connected, Autonomous, Road-test) Lab in Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City, Tainan City; setting up Taiwan’s first closed field test facilities and equipment to support the development, tuning, and evaluation of self-driving vehicles. Taiwan CAR Lab was inaugurated on Feb. 25, 2019, when President Tsai Ing-wen took a tour on the ARTC-developed self-driving vehicle (sponsored by DoIT), giving high praises.
