- Category：Chassis steering technology
- Technique Features：
The EPB actuator uses only one cable, and two sides of cable connect brakes separately. When the electric motor rotates, it actuates the mechanism to push the cable tube which will cause the cable tube to provide force to cable to pull the two sides of brakes. Cable-pulling force achieves balance in pulling process, and then keeps the vehicle motionless when it is parked. Combination of the actuator and the controller let the driver enable the parking brake through the button, or via the controller can achieve: hill start assistance, automatically activated when the ignition key is removed, and other functions.
1. Actuator output force: 1.47kN (150 kgf)
2. Applicable to vehicle weight: <2500 kg
3. Current limit: 30A
4. Apply time: <1.6 sec
5. Release time: <1.2 sec
The EPB can be used in sedans, pickups, electric vehicles, ATVs and other vehicles.
ARTC has established EPB technologies which include intelligence gathering about patents and technologies, actuator design/analysis/prototyping/patent portfolio, design and development of electronic control units, etc. The establishment can make domestic component manufacturers have capabilities of system integration. Moreover, the EPB can improve the existing system from mechanical control to electronic control, simplify the assembly procedure, reduce the system weight, and make the parking brake more intelligent, which makes the EPB more competitive in the market.
