Simulation of RTM process in composite

  • Technique Features:

    This technology mainly uses the computer-aided engineering (CAE) method to evaluate the behavior of resin flow and infiltrate the fiber in the closed mold during the manufacturing process of RTM. The flow of resin is affected by the permeability of the laminate, resin viscosity, injection pressure and flow rate. The virtual analysis of the process simulation could assist the industry in devising the injection system and predicting the dry fiber and the warpage of product.

  • Specification:

    1.Input data:Permeability, reactive viscosity, cure kinetics, specific volume of resin,…etc.
    2.Out data:Melt front time, warpage,…etc.

  • Applications:

    This technology can be applied to composite products in various engineering fields (such as vehicles, aerospace, machinery, etc.).

  • Benefit:

    It can assist the industry in evaluating the results of RTM processing at the design period, and reduce the modification cost of the mold.
