On-Board Information Technologies of Operational Coach and Its Applications to Transportation System(營運大客車車載資訊技術應用於運輸系統之研究)
- On-Board technologies of vehicle include on-board diagnostic and on-board measurement systems provide huge information for researcher to estimate or judge the vehicles performance. Because of the on-board technologies not only out put the error codes but also much useful information of vehicle and engine. Furthermore that information could provide the applications for transportation system, such as road plan and so on. This paper firstly introduces the on-board diagnostic and on-board measurement system and the information what we could get from the on-board systems. Secondly, the heavy-duty engine vehicle of operational coach of using on-board systems to collect data at the real road in Taiwan is illustrated.By acquiring and analyzing the data, there was the real time fuel consumption related to the engine speed, load and vehicle velocity. On the other hand, the emission of vehicle on the real road were measured and also related to the engine conditions. The result shown violent acceleration caused the 5.69g/s fuel consumption and 0.118g/s NOx emission and that were 1.87 and 2.14 times compared with the cruise. There were the efficient ranges of operation which engine load between 60% and 80% and engine speed between 1100rpm and 1400rpm, and the emission were lower than the other condition. The result was obviously that urban road has the lowest fuel economy approximately 1.58km/L and it emitted the largest NOx and CO emission, and 3.13 times worst than Freeway condition. Using the OBS and OBDII collected the information could be the tool for managing the driver behaviors and understanding the benefits of behavior improvement.
