Abstract—The remote driving is a brilliant manual take-over method for the autonomous vehicle, which is not complicated and doesn't need a driver in the vehicle. The experimental vehicle is an electric golf cart, equipped with 3 HD cameras on 3 different direction of the front windshield, front, front-left, front-right. The remote driver operates simulator-grade racing wheel and pedals on a laptop, takes-over the vehicle via LTE network, delivering steering, throttle, and braking commands. This paper presents the implementation of the remote control, and discusses the latency of transmission on real road environments.
